Service Description

In Partnership with Arcadia Earth To enable the arts and digital media students to learn about the environment and the role of art and digital media for storytelling. Students will explore various immersive rooms (featuring art installations and digital media) to learn about the human impact on our environment and then engage in a design challenge to use art and digital media to create their own climate stories. The goal will be to use a mix of cognitive and affective strategies to explain climate change and drive behavior change. Students will present their creations. For 50-60 students. Pricing includes entrance fee to Arcadia Earth. SHSM SPE conducted over two days to meet the provincial requirements for 6 hours. Day 1 Schedule: 11:00 am Arrival 11:15 am to 12:15 pm Arcadia Earth Tour 12:15 pm to 12:45 pm Sustainability Marketplace Tour-Using Art to Brand for Sustainability with Arcadia Earth and Dr. Minna Allarakhia 12:45 pm Lunch or Departure Day 2 At School: 9:30 am to 11:00 am Challenge Introduction and Group Work 11:00 am to 11:45 am Career Explorations 11:45 am to 12:30 pm Lunch 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm Student Presentations

Cancellation Policy

SHSM certification workshops can be cancelled up to 14 days before the scheduled event. SHSM SPEs can also be cancelled up to 14 days before the scheduled workshop as per the booking venue policy. Any deposits and fees to be paid/returned will be determined as per the venue policy for the SPEs. Where possible, a credit may be provided and the event rescheduled. Any changes to the number of students attending the certification workshop or SPE must be made up to 14 days before the scheduled event.
