Service Description

COMING SOON: Students will explore the connection between AI and the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Namely, students will explore how AI is currently being used to address the UN SDGs as well as the underlying data challenges. Students will then participate in an AI task involving a health dataset-considering issues related to data and the accuracy of the resulting outputs. Students will hear from experts working in the area of AI for Good and consider post-secondary options to build their skillsets in AI. For 50-60 students. Schedule: 10:00 am Arrival 10:15 am to 11:00 am Guest presentation on the impact of AI across sectors, exploring tech and companies 11:00 am to 12:00 pm Mind mapping how AI can be used for good-namely to achieve the UN SDGs, student mini presentations including possible datasets 12:00 pm to 12:45 pm Lunch 12:45 pm to 2:00 pm Completing the AI in Disease Prediction and/or Diagnosis Challenge 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm Reach Ahead-Post Secondary and Career Opportunities in AI 3:00 pm to 3:15 pm Return to School

Cancellation Policy

SHSM certification workshops can be cancelled up to 14 days before the scheduled event. SHSM SPEs can also be cancelled up to 14 days before the scheduled workshop as per the booking venue policy. Any deposits and fees to be paid/returned will be determined as per the venue policy for the SPEs. Where possible, a credit may be provided and the event rescheduled. Any changes to the number of students attending the certification workshop or SPE must be made up to 14 days before the scheduled event.
