Reach Ahead: Careers in STEAM for Good

Service Description

Our Reach Ahead Program is focused on empowering students to make the connections across STEAM and sustainability/sustainable development. Our 75 to 120 minute session (can be scheduled over the lunch break at school) includes: Thinking beyond your major and exploring minors and other micro-credential opportunities. Thinking big and exploring leadership programs at your school through clubs, your program, and in your community. Seeing yourself as an innovator-exploring entrepreneurship and venture creation at school. Creating a competitive profile through research opportunities on campus. Seeking experiential learning opportunities through co-op and other internship opportunities. Adding a global dimension through studying abroad experiences. Looking for opportunities for social impact through sustainable development (including community engagement, micro-credentials and other certificate based programs). Hear from faculty and staff from various institutions including University of Waterloo, York University, University of Toronto and work with Dr. Minna Allarakhia in this session (faculty with over 15 years experience at the University of Waterloo). For 40-100 students. Pizza lunch will be provided.
