This summer, BioEndeavor (a global NGO) is launching a new virtual program She Designs the Way Forward: Empowering Young Women to Succeed by Leading for Good. Designing the Way Forward, is a 6-day virtual program to support young women through a journey of:

  • self-awareness

  • finding purpose

  • creating a vision of one’s future self

  • brainstorming new opportunities driven by technological change and the need for sustainable development

  • human skills development

  • as well as joint education and career mapping to create a path into leadership

We created this program, because every young woman needs a champion.

The program was created by Dr. Minna Allarakhia an alumna of MIT, Brown University and the University of Waterloo.

Dr. Minna Allarakhia is a faculty at the University of Waterloo and Co-Founder of BioEndeavor Inc. She will provide an inside view of university life including choosing schools and programs, as well as emerging education and career opportunities for young women. The 6-day virtual journey includes a 2-hour live morning Zoom session with peers and Dr. Minna Allarakhia followed by afternoon self-reflection exercises. The program is supported by exercises and reading on the BioEndeavor platform which will be available for the afternoon activities and for lifetime access after the live program, including the supporting online community to ensure continued connectivity and engagement for students. The 6-day journey includes: Day 1: Beginning the Journey with You Building self-awareness and self-confidence. Understanding the true measure of your self-worth by connecting to your values and beliefs.

Day 2: Resilience through Purpose and Knowing your Goals Understanding the science behind purpose and its impact on your well-being including your physical and emotional well-being as well as the ability to be resilient across the ups and downs of life. Finding clarity in your goals and purpose across your education and career path. Day 3: Emerging Opportunities Driven by Global Challenges Understanding emerging education and career opportunities driven by technology, sustainable development, and global responsibility. Finding your unique place in this world. Envisioning your future self and learning how to create this future vision of yourself.

Day 4: The Human Skills Needed to Succeed in our Global World

Developing and leveraging your human skills to stand out and lead for good as a young woman. Finding your strengths as a young woman who is a critical thinker, creative innovator, powerful communicator, empathetic collaborator and moral leader. The goal is for students to find the right balance between technical and human skills that will allow them to stand out and lead for good.

Days 5 and 6: Designing Your Education and Career Map-Achieving Excellence as an Emerging Young Leader Mapping your education and career paths. Charting the path forward, networking and finding mentors. Group and instructor led discussions will assist students in finding schools, programs and leadership opportunities that align well with their purpose and vision of their future self.

Daily Reflections: Daily reflections enable personal development, connect students to their purpose, and guide students in finding their place in this world as a Lead-HER.

Peer to Peer Real Life Learning: Students will work with their fellow Lead-HERs to strengthen their confidence and sense of self-worth, develop their human skills using case-based simulations, and jointly develop their education and career maps. One-on-One Time with an MIT/Brown Alumna: Students will spend one-on-one time with Dr. Minna Allarakhia-an MIT and Brown Alumna and faculty at the University of Waterloo, to share their education and career maps. Join us in this uplifting, meaningful journey to chart the path forward together as Lead-HERs. Together, we can ensure that our voices are heard to solve the great challenges of our world.
