BIOENDEAVOR BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Chair of the Board, Dr. Richard Harper, IUPUI
Over 25 years of experience as a medicinal organic chemist. For the last ten years I have worked in computational chemistry. I am interested in design and development of drugs for tropical diseases, such as particularly malaria. I organized a symposium on Antimalarials sponsored by the Medicinal Chemistry Division of the American Chemical Society for the 234th ACS National Meeting in Boston - Aug 19-23, 2007. This was very well attended and helped raise the profile of malaria as a potential area for research. I am currently engaged with the Distributed Drug Discovery Project at IUPUI. The goal of this project is discovery of lead molecules for neglected diseases while employing this as an educational experience.
